A study of how the use of certain materials in construction and design helps create contrast and shape the experience of the user walking through the space. The use of colored glass elements allows the flow of light into the four corner rooms and the interaction of the colors on the opaque walls helps to bring out the idea of contrast between the experience of walking into the brightly-lit rooms through the dark hallways, thereby creating an experience that appeals to the senses in an aesthetic manner.

The use of varied dimensions of wood in the construction of the structure (beams, columns and walls) goes along the ideas of contrast and complementarity.
